Canoeing is not a very productive activity. Want to do something physical, get in touch with Nature, and actually have something to show for it -- get into gardening. There's no tangible results from canoeing. All it can do is rejuvenate your spirit and restore your soul.

With everything that needs to be done, an afternoon canoeing can feel pretty self-indulgent. Strapping a boat to the roof of your car and driving away from the things-to-do list -- that's just what I want to help you do.

Because you might be taking care of yourself in the most important way there is. Call it stress relief or call it something spiritual, to me, a canoe trip is an extended meditation. One that can be done very nicely with another person, or not.

At some point, I hope to organize a large volume of specific information about canoe trips by State. When I have enough material, you'll use this page to make a selection.

What I do have right now, however, is some personal experience and a little research on canoeing in Massachusetts; really, Eastern Massachusetts. So please keep going forward, make the only geographical selection I've got at the moment -- and check out the Statewide Profile, the Master List of Canoeing Rivers, and most of all: The Top Ten Lists.

Thanks.
