Teens
and Energy Drinks
Sept
29, 2010 - National Coffee Day
We
might remember on National Coffee Day that the American Academy of
Pediatrics recommends that children and teens avoid coffee and energy
drinks, since caffeine can cause them to have sleep problems, high
blood pressure, and a rapid heart rate.
Teenagers and young adults spend billions on heavily caffeinated drinks
with names like Monster, Red Bull, Amp and Full Throttle. However, the
caffeine in these products may be having more of an impact than just
trouble getting sleep.
